The Joy of Gathering Together
Dover Community Church
Dear Friends of InFaith: Northwest Oregon, Springtime is usually a time for planting, but in this ministry it is also a time for gathering…
The Joy of Gathering Together
It is a privilege to be able to step in for the leaders of local churches from time to time to get to know their congregations a bit better. I was blessed this Sunday to share the Word with the folks at Dover Community Church just outside Sandy, while Pastor Jason Young was out of town enjoying a family weekend in Pendleton.
This coming Sunday (March 16), Caroline will be leading worship and I will again be preaching at Mountain Home Community Church in Colton, while Pastor Brian Simmons is away on a mission to teach church leaders in Nepal. Caroline and I are currently booked every Sunday through the end of April, but I still may be able to help your church find other speakers from time to time. Feel free to give me a call or drop a line to thiscox@infaith.org .
Gathering to Pray March 13 in Portland
You and your church leaders are all invited to join us at our monthly InFaith Portland Pastors’ Prayer, tomorrow (Thursday, March 13) at Woodland Park Chapel in Portland. This intimate gathering of prayer warriors helps keep our shared ministry on the firm foundation of the Rock. Prayer begins at 10 AM at WPC, 1914 NE 102nd Ave, Portland.
Gathering for Fellowship, NWxNW, March 18 (Location TBD)
This monthly gathering continues next Tuesday, March 18 at 3 PM when our NWxNW church leaders’ fellowship will meet at Hudson Park Bible Church, Rainier, OR. Church leaders from the six congregations we serve in that area are, more and more, working together to share the word of Jesus in their communities.
Gathering to Break Bread, Sandy Fellowship Breakfast, March 19 at Tollgate Inn
The next morning, Wednesday, March 19, InFaith church leaders from the eastern portion of our ministry area will gather for our monthly Sandy Fellowship Breakfast. Join us at 9 AM at Tollgate Inn to be part of this no-host, casual meal and edifying conversation.
Gathering to Refresh, March 24-27 in Georgia
Then it’s off to the east coast for Caroline and me. The Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to have a couple days with family in North Carolina, before driving south the Georgia for InFaith’s annual Refresh conference.
Gathering to Share Vision, Sunday School Fellowship annual meeting, March 22 in Carver, OR
While on that trip east, I will be using Zoom to join in with many of you who will be at the Sunday School Fellowship Annual Meeting, March 22, 10 AM at Carver Church. SSF is an Oregon non-profit whose mission is to work alongside InFaith missionaries as we serve the Great Commission. Every InFaith-affiliated congregation in our part of northwest Oregon is invited to send two voting delegates as this ministry partnership of “churches helping churches” reviews the Lord’s work through their partnerships. Among other things, SSF offers interest-free church loan programs, promotes inter-church cooperation, helps with InFaith’s annual Advance conference and helps in managing titles to a few ministry properties. There is no cost to any local congregation to participate.
A New Way to Support InFaith: Northwest Oregon –
TEXT TO GIVE There is now one more way you can help defray expenses of our ministry to the twenty InFaith fellowship churches in northwest Oregon. InFaith has introduced Text to Give. If the Lord leads you to make a contribution to our ministry you can simply text HISCOX (AMOUNT) to (484) 897-7097. For example: texting HISCOX 100 will indicate you wish to donate $100 to our ministry support fund. You will receive a return text asking you to click on a link to set up your donation using either a card or the routing number of your bank account. Subsequent donations won’t need to go through this sign-up process.
IMPORTANT: If you are already giving to InFaith through some other means, YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE. Please keep mailing your checks, or continuing your automatic contributions through the InFaith Home Office, if that method works for you! The text option is just something new offered for your convenience, if it is helpful. Thank you for supporting our work for Jesus in Northwest Oregon!
I pray the Lord will bless you abundantly as you gather with others in the name of Jesus!
