Well done, good and faithful servant!

Pastor Mark Helmberger of Woodland Park Chapel went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday morning, June 26 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.  Mark’s wife Lisa, who was at his side in his final hours, says Mark was able to regain strength early Sunday morning, long enough to have a sweet parting conversation with her.  She says even doctors were amazed at Mark’s demeanor and that he “looked perfectly healthy, peaceful and happy.”  His final words were: “I love you, too.”  Lisa told me that she is “really experiencing God’s upholding me.”  Mark was an InFaith Associate for 9 years and faithful servant of Christ to the end.  His final sermon was June 19 at Woodland Park Chapel, where he and Pastor Brad Gentry have served together since shortly after they both graduated from Western Seminary.  Plans for a memorial service have not yet been announced.  Thank you for your continued prayers for Lisa and family.

A major milestone was reached in the InFaith Family last week:  Louis and Helen Hoffman, recipients of the 2019 Bryce Bartruff Servant-Leader Award, celebrated the 75th anniversary of their marriage, Saturday at their home at Courtyard Fountains in Gresham.  Caroline and I were pleased to have a nice visit with them and present them with flowers to mark the occasion.  But as often happens, we were enjoying the visit so much we forgot to get a picture of the lovebirds’ smiles!

May God bless you in His service this week!
