Elder Forest & Marett Teele are leading Hudson Park Bible Church to join the InFaith: Northwest Oregon Fellowship

Welcome to the Family: Hudson Park Bible Church!
A new church plant in upper Rainier has joined the InFaith: Northwest Oregon Family.  Hudson Park Bible Church is a group of 35-40 believers who renovated an old schoolhouse in their rural neighborhood and have been meeting there for more than a year.  Elder Forest Teele and his wife Marett contacted us last summer, and discussions began in earnest after they attended the InFaith Hymnsing at Shiloh Basin Community Church in August.  The church voted Sunday (June 7) to enter into a fellowship agreement with our area ministry.  They are looking forward to a close relationship with other church congregations around Northwest Oregon, as their own body grows in service to Jesus.  I am sure you all join me in welcoming Hudson Park Bible Church to the fellowship.  The church is located at 75212 Larson Road in Rainier (Columbia County).  The only mailing address I have right now is for the Teele’s home, but I don’t think they would mind receiving your welcoming emails at fmteele@gmail.com .

Thank God for the Great Flood! (Gary that is.)

I wish I had a picture of Woodland Park Chapel’s Gary Flood bailing us out of a problem at Glendoveer Chapel last Friday night.  Just as the rain started falling and darkness was setting in, we learned that the back window on the church had broken.  Gary rushed over even before I could get to the scene, assessed the situation, went home to get tools and plywood, then let me watch as he skillfully patched up the problem.  A couple days later, Gary called me to say he had gone back with a friend who does window repair and put in a new pane.  Thanks, Gary for being so willing to serve the Lord when called upon on a moment’s notice!

Glendoveer Chapel Cleanup: June 13, 8 AM. to Noon

The final cleanup at Glendoveer Chapel before it sells is coming this Saturday.  InFaith is currently in escrow to sell the property to a small church group looking to plant a ministry in that neighborhood.  Though we can’t share the group’s info until the deal is finalized, we will be moving some furniture and other items (including small kitchen tools and small appliances) to make room for their new ministry.  Also, a gardening contractor who lives across the street has volunteered to join us Saturday in cleaning up the church yard.  He might be able to use a couple extra hands.  If you plan to show up to help, please remember to wear work gloves and a face mask, and pray for sun breaks! (And I may need one dedicated volunteer to run pick up important things like pizzas and soft drinks and serve them in a Coronavirus-safe way.) The church is located at 16001 NE Glisan Street, Portland.   We have most bases covered as far as supplies, but it looks like we still need someone with a pickup to haul things to storage, and a small amount of storage space to temporarily hold items that haven’t found a home yet.   If you can provide either, please let me know ASAP.  Thank you!

Pastors’ Breakfast is Back at the Tollgate Inn, June 17, 9 AM

The monthly InFaith Pastors Breakfast is back at the Tollgate Inn in Sandy, Wednesday June 17.  Due to social distancing requirements, they will seat up to eight of us at one table, and any others at a table a short distance away.  It’s a small price to pay to resume the face-to-face fellowship many of us have enjoyed in the past.  Please let me know if you plan on attending so I can get close on my estimate of numbers before they set up the seating.  See you there!

Pastor’s Prayer Time Continues at Woodland Park Chapel, June 18, 10 AM

Please join us in prayer for the congregations we serve, and for our fellow shepherds leading those flocks in following the Great Commission.

Time to Start the Missionary Journeys Again

As COVID precautions are being carefully lifted, several of your churches are resuming meetings for Sunday worship, so I am again venturing out to meet with as many congregations as I can.  I have been happy to speak recently at Garfield, and plan to speak at Hudson Park July 12th.  But I still have plenty of Sundays open through the summer.  If you would like a visit from your area missionary, call me at 971-645-2777 or drop me an email at thiscox@infaith.org .  I will be happy to bring the message, or a song, or a short report…or to just sit in the back and smile as we worship together.

Now may the God who hears, heals, saves and provides, hear you today, heal the wounds of those you shepherd, allow you to rest in the assurance of salvation and provide for all your needs according His riches in glory.
