There's Always Power in the Church (and sometimes electricity too!)
The Lights are on at Dodge Community Church!
Dodge Church treasurer Wanda Skoein is rejoicing that finishing touches on the new home for the rural Dodge ministry are slowly coming along. In the meantime, Wanda reports she is ordering furniture, while the congregation is meeting Sundays at Springwater Grange.
Thanks to the Lord’s provision through generous donors over the past two years it is expected the Dodge Community Church doors will open debt free when they begin sharing the gospel from their new facility. Wanda says the church plans a dedication service later in the year, but the congregation may start meeting in the new building a little sooner, Lord willing.
Sunday School Fellowship Annual Meeting
Coming up March 11
Among many partners who helped with the Dodge construction project is the Sunday School Fellowship, which has facilitated receipt of a few of the larger donations. SSF is an Oregon non-profit whose member churches are all in fellowship with InFaith: Northwest Oregon. SSF chairman Pastor Seth Lewis (Carver Church) will be leading the SSF annual meeting, March 11 at 10 AM at Woodland Park Chapel, Portland. It should be an encouraging time, as SSF is completing a productive year of ministry to the churches and church leaders in our field. Each member church is invited to send up to two voting delegates…if you don’t know who is coming from your church, check with your pastor…it could be you!
NWxNW Fellowship gathers again March 21
One sub-group of our InFaith fellowship churches includes six congregations in the far northwest corner of northwest Oregon (NWxNW). Leaders of these six congregations (Holbrook Bible Church, Deer Island Bible Church, Shiloh Basin Community Church, Columbia Bible Church, Mayger-Downing Community Church and Hudson Park Bible Church) get together frequently throughout the year to share ministry ideas, encourage one another, and pray for one another (usually over coffee and snacks). The next gathering of this NWxNW group is Tuesday, March 21 at Deer Island Community Church, where the three new elders of the congregation have just begun a pastoral search process.
Thanks to Woodland Park Chapel
Caroline and I had a wonderful Sunday morning this week singing and sharing from the Word with the congregation at Woodland Park Chapel. Please remain in prayer for Pastor Brad and Susan Gentry who were in Arizona this weekend attending a memorial service for Susan’s father, who passed away Arizona in January.
