A New Picture of an Historic Mission

New Website Explains InFaith’s Service to Jesus
A major update to InFaith’s National website went live this month, offering an exciting picture of the mission’s work for Jesus, including short videos, missionary biographies and easy links showing how you can become involved.  Check out the site at www.infaith.org .  If you are looking for information on our Northwest Oregon ministry, simply search for the name “Hiscox” on the national site or go directly to our local site at www.nworinfaith.org .

Ministry Milestones:  It’s has been a blessed week so far in the ministry of InFaith: Northwest Oregon.   Sunday, I (Tom) shared the Word at Lighthouse Community Church (Gresham), while Caroline helped lead worship at Aims Community Church (Corbett/Sandy).  Lighthouse Pastor Bill & Laura Skogan were blessed to take a well-deserved rest at the coast.

Monday, Pastor Bob Droullard of Dover Community Church and I met to talk over the exciting transition underway in that church, as the Lord has called new pastor Jason Young (to start in a few months), and Bob prepares to retire.

Tuesday’s NWxNW church leaders’ fellowship at Deer Island Community Church was an opportunity to pray with Deer Island Pastor Dennis Brown and Bonny Klukas of Columbia Bible Church (Rainier).  Both shared encouraging news of what the Lord is doing in their small fellowships, post-pandemic.  That afternoon, I had a brief visit with Pastor John & Marilyn Thomas of Mayger-Downing Community Church (Clatskanie) to pray with them as they prepare for Sunday’s celebration of the life of their son, Joshua, who passed into the arms of Jesus earlier this month.  (The Funeral is Sunday, Sep 25 at 4 PM at Woodland Christian Church in Woodland, Washington).

Wednesday morning’s pastors’ breakfast in Sandy was full of news of God’s movement in local ministries: Pastor Dan Wentworth of Mtn Home Church (Colton) shared his plans for local outreach and evangelism in his home town of Dundee, following his recent decision to step down at Mtn Home.  Dan’s final Sunday at Mtn Home is the 25th.  Pastor Brad Gentry of Woodland Park Chapel (Portland) was praising God for the success of their first ever outdoor service at their location on 102nd street; Pastor Thomas Robinson of The Church on the Mountain (Welches) spoke of plans to focus his congregation on the true meaning of discipleship in the months to come; while deacons Tony Skoein and Danny Kishpaugh of Dodge Community Church rejoiced that construction is underway on their new church building, and a meeting coming up could help complete the financing of the project.

Still more blessings ahead for all of us as the Spirit of God continues to move among the people of Northwest Oregon.  Thanks for your continued service, prayers and support!
