Feels Like Spring!
It is a beautiful spring morning in my backyard! The sun peeked out for a couple hours, then the clouds rolled back in so we could receive a few more showers of blessing from the Lord. I pray each one of you is feeling blessed today as you joyfully share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Here are some things that are happening in the InFaith: Northwest Oregon family this month.
Bonita Cleanup Underway this week!
A massive cleanup is underway this week at the former Bonita Community Church building in Tigard. The building’s owners, our ministry partners at Sunday School Fellowship, have until Friday to have the facility prepared for its buyers. Special kudos to SSF board members Jim Van Voorst and Alan Baumgarden, who supervised the work on Saturday. Much was accomplished and much more is left to be done. The preparation entails relocating decades of accumulated furniture, ministry supplies and other items. SSF chairman Seth Lewis has arranged for a moving crew to complete the project on Saturday. The new owners of the building plan to use it as part of a food pantry ministry. Praise God!
May 5 – National Day of Prayer
As many of our congregations are observing National Day of Prayer, May 5, Mountain Home Church and other churches in Colton are joining together to host a National Day of Prayer Breakfast at 7 AM at the Colton Fire Station. Mtn Home Pastor Dan Wentworth says three of the Colton area churches will also be open for prayer times throughout the day. Mountain Home Church will welcome all comers from 6-7 PM Thursday evening.
May 6 – Autumn’s Surgery
Caroline and I thank all of you who have continued in prayer for our granddaughter Autumn Grace. She is now eight months old and growing strong after her heart surgery earlier this year. She is going in for another major surgery on May 6th (mostly on her abdomen). The Lord has strengthened her so much that she is expected to have a hospital stay of only a few days this time.
May 10, 9 AM – NWxNW fellowship, Columbia Bible Church (Rainier)
Columbia Bible Church (Rainier) is hosting this month’s gathering of pastors and church leaders in the far Northwest portion of our field, Tuesday, May 10, 9-11 AM. I thank God for this group of 10-12 people who join together in prayer, fellowship and support for each other and for the work of the Gospel in their communities.
May 18, 9 AM – InFaith Pastors’ Breakfast, Tollgate Inn (Sandy)
Good food and great fellowship await pastors and leaders of InFaith-affiliated ministries in the Sandy Area, Wednesday, May 18th at Tollgate Inn.
May 19, 10 AM – Portland Pastors’ Prayer, Woodland Park Chapel (Portland)
Join fellow shepherds in prayer at Woodland Park Chapel, 10 AM on the third Thursday of the month. Help us bring the praises and petitions of our respective ministries before the Lord and lift up many who are hurting in our communities.
