Ready in Season and Out of Season!

Caroline Hiscox leading hymns at Dodge Community Church, 2/20/22

The apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to… “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season…” (2 Timothy 4:1)

I was reminded of this on Sunday, when we visited Dodge Community Church outside of Estacada.  Guest speaker pastor Rance Kinzer was ready with the word, but the congregation was without someone to lead their singing, until my “ever ready” darling wife stepped up, as she has so many times at other churches. (You never know when a visiting missionary will come in handy!)

So what gift has the Lord given you to use to share His word?  Are you ready?  This may be the season in which you are called to step up!

Church Leaders: Please make sure your calendar is marked to attend the Annual Meeting of Sunday School Fellowship, March 12 at 10 AM at Woodland Park Chapel.  Each member church is invited to bring two voting delegates.  For those who cannot attend the meeting, there is a Zoom option, but we do hope most of you can attend this once-a-year face-to-face fellowship.  For a detailed agenda and invitation letter from SSF president Seth Lewis, please CLICK ON THE FLYER IN THIS POST.

I am so thankful for InFaith’s partnership with Sunday School Fellowship to further the work of the Lord in Northwest Oregon.  And my gratitude extends especially to the current hard-working members of the SSF board – Seth Lewis, Alan Baumgarden, Brad Gentry, Frank Campbell, John Abraham and Jim VanVoorst.

NWXNW March 15   9-11 AM

The next gathering of the NWxNW ministry leaders fellowship will be March 15 at Mayger-Downing Community Church.  Thanks to Pastor John and Marilyn Thomas for hosting.

More details of the InFaith: Northwest Oregon March ministry schedule will be in next week’s memo.  For now, I am looking forward to speaking at Shiloh Basin Community Church this coming Sunday (Feb 27) while Caroline helps out with music at Aims Community Church.

Thanks again for your continued prayers for our granddaughter Autumn and our whole family.  At five months old, Autumn is now home from the hospital and growing in strength for the long journey she has ahead of her.  We thank God for His continued healing and provision!
