Gathering together for the Harvest

InFaith Missionaries gathered to Refresh at Cannon Beach.
Last week’s InFaith Refresh conference at Cannon Beach brought together dozens of missionaries from throughout the country to worship together and celebrate the Lord’s work among us.  Among the many joining us in worship were Pastor Steven and Sofi Boyle (InFaith Associates) from Columbia Community Bible Church, Northwest Field Director Nathan Bath and retired field director Jim VanVoorst.  Please be in prayer this week for Jim and his wife Linda.  Linda’s mother went to be with Jesus last week.

Coming Up:

Portland Pastors’ Prayer, October 28  10 AM
Our monthly prayer time for InFaith fellowship pastors in the Portland area is Thursday, October 28th at 10 AM at Woodland Park Chapel.  Come join us as we lift up the ministries and ministers in our area.

Pastors Needed!
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
Matthew 9:37-38

Today I was ministering alongside a man who has served as an elder of a local church for many years.  A new acquaintance asked if he was “a preacher” and his answer was, “I am starting to lean that way.”  If I had known him better I might have said, “Well, it’s time to stop leaning and jump in!”   If you are leaning just a little in that direction, I would like to give you a nudge, and maybe even give you a hand, or a bit of advice over a cup of coffee. This field is ripe for the harvest!

Just this past week, I got another call from a small church in the area seeking a pastor. That’s in addition to the small handful of InFaith affiliated ministries already looking for shepherds.  Now is the time for many of you to consider your calling.   Some bright man once said: “The Lord doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called!”  Seriously.  thiscox@infaith.org

Deer Island Community Church, October 31
This coming Sunday, I (Tom) will be speaking with our friends at Shiloh Community Church while Caroline leads music at Aims Community Church.  It was a blessing to preach the Word this week at The Church on the Mountain in Welches.  Thanks, Pastor Thomas Robinson, for the invitation.  And thanks to Tim and Judy Simons for graciously hosting us for lunch afterward.
May the blessings of the Lord continue in abundance as you respond to His call on your life this week.
