InFaith: Northwest Oregon Weekly Memo - "Is God Listening?"
Is God Listening?
As billions of people worldwide pray for relief from the Coronavirus pandemic, many in your community may be struggling with thoughts of their own mortality, wondering if the Creator of the Universe (to whom they may not have spoken in a while) is still listening to their cry, and if they, personally, have any hope of deliverance. There are many places in scripture where He reminds us that His love for us is eternal. One of my favorites is Romans 8:38-39 - “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The most crucial element of that promise of love is where it is found: “…in Christ Jesus the Lord.” Thank you for continuing to share that love with your neighbors, with the reminder that salvation is found in Him and in Him alone (Acts 4:12) and that whoever calls upon the name of Jesus will be saved (Acts 2:21).
Please Update Your Websites and Facebook Pages with Your Current Ministry Plans
Especially now, your neighbors are wanting to hear the Word of God and experience the love of Jesus through their local churches. Many of you are answering that call with small gatherings, help for those in need, special online services, messages and meetings. Make sure your community can find you. All of the InFaith: Northwest Oregon fellowship churches are listed on our interactive map at https://www.nworinfaith.org/new-page-1. Click on the number next to your church name on the map and you will be taken to a listing with basic information about your church. Unfortunately, we are not able to update the listings as frequently as your services change in the current crisis, but we have listed what we believe to be your regular service times. If you have a website, we have included a link to that site. In some cases, we have listed a Facebook site. These places are where folks online will go for your most current information. Even if you are not currently conducting services, a note on the first page of your website indicating your plans and your concern for your community will help keep people in touch. If there are important updates to your listing on the InFaith: Northwest Oregon map, please send the info in an email to thiscox@infaith.org.
